Prestashop - Quickbooks integration

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I would like to know if anyone has any information on Quickbooks integrations that will handle combinations inside Prestashop. The only information I would need to sync is inventory quantites and prices.

I have being using Webgility eCC for more than a year. It was working fine until we needed to update item prices into the store and found out it couldn't by and eCC representative, for some reason the program seems to update inventory quantities for each combination but cannot update prices which I find ilogic. Besides the programs runs very slow and since my main purpose was inventory handling the program wont update any inventory if there are any orders pending in the cart. There should be an option to update inventory even if there are open orders.

I have also tried the Prestashop Store Manager with its Quickbooks Add-on. If I manually update an item inside the software and then send the info to the store works fine but since we handle thousands of items combinations it can't be done one by one, then I tried the Quickbooks add-on. The option for "modifying" items in the cart shows the result for the items as "skipped" and there are no updates done. I chatted with emagicone support and said that I should use the "add and modify" option, which I don't think I should use since the items are already in prestashop, whay would I want to add something if it is already there, right? but again they know more than my so I did what they said and as I expected it added new items instead of updating the combinations for the existing ones. I also tried adding items with combinations from the Store Manager and then tried to update them but no luck. I also find annoying that you have have to specified a "Category" when updating an item from Quickbooks; sometimes we keep items and its combinations in more than one category, how do you specify that in the importing field??? I really like this program but I can't find a way to make it work.

I would like to know if there are more options thanks these two softwares or has anyone be able to use the Store Manager Quickbooks Add-on to update combinations.

Hello!

Thank you for your deep investigation, we'll try to assist you here.

First of all as I can understand you're importing products from QuikcBooks to Prestashop - to make it clear for everyone who is reading this post.

In your case if you have all products both in QuickBooks and PrestaShop, option Modify only is the best, so you're right at this point.

The thing is that at the moment Store Manager with QuickBooks doesn't allow to import combinations from QuickBooks to PrestaShop, just had no specific requests about it. That is why you have duplicates, it simply cannot map them to combinations, so it creates duplicates or skips them if modify method is used.

As for categories. You need to specify them for newly created/added products only. In case you use modify option, you can leave this field as is - all products will be updated in their own categories (as they are in PrestaShop, no changes made). For new products that are not found, we need some space to put them, so you could find them and update in bulk. In your case as we do not support combinations yet, they are identified as new products, and are placeto new category.

At this point, the only question that is unresolved is how to update combinations correctly.

I've just spoke to our project manager about the support of product combinations to be imported from QuickBooks to Prestashop. We will gladly add this feature in future versions of the software with your help, but we need you to assist us with few unresolved questions. Also I welcome other forum users help us to cope with them:

- Identification for product combination can be done with the help of Reference. But the problem is that in PrestaShop, this field is not required, so it can be empty. For those products and combinations where it is empty will it be correct solution to create duplicates?

- Reference field in PrestaShop can have duplicated values for multiple products (for generic combinations it is quite common thing), so parent product can have the same reference as all its "subproducts". In this case there's no way to map them correctly. How should we update them? Update only parent product or update all combinations with same values? And if values (q-ty or price) differs for combinations with same reference, which one is the correct one?

We would appreciate any other details that bother you and we'll gladly take them into account as well.

Also once option is added we would like you to check it before it goes to public to make sure it is done correctly.

Hi Wilson.R,

I author the MODERATED eCommerce integration for QuickBooks, Sage 50 U.S., and FrontAccounting. CartSpan currently offers an integration for PrestaShop and I would be eager to chat with you to determine if it would resolve this issue for you.

Best regards,
