Hello.

 

I starting a new shop with prestashop on whitch i only sell download software.

So no physical software.

 

What i want is that after the customer orders his products, there is an option to get a backup cd-rom.

This should only be 1 for the complete order so it can not be done with attibutes at te products because then there will be an backup cdrom for every ordered product.

 

How can i do this. Is this in the default prestashop or is there a module that can do this.

Hi Henkbart,

A 'top of the head' idea, which may turn out to be no good! 

If the cost of the backup cd-rom is always the same for each order, you could maybe adapt the gift wrapping functionality to cover this, as it's applied to the order, not the product.

Don't know if that will work when you're dealing with virtual products like software downloads.

You could use the shipping system that has been modified. This would really only work if you were selling and shipping the cds for a flat fee, but you could charge for each this way.

Hi Henkbart,

If you use Vsn 1.5.x, you can use a cartrule for this.

 

First make a 'product' : Back-up CD

(Price 0$ or so)

 

 

Give a Code "BACKUPCD" or so, and give as condition minimum amount xx $ (use maybe 1$ if you always want to give the CD)

In actions tab, no free shipping, no discount, "apply to order", and select "free gift". Then a field pops up where you can select the 'Back-up CD' as gift.
