Database error (wrong entities?)

Hi, I am having the dreaded "no images" error and my investigation has come to this:

In table PS_IMAGE where id_image is 1206 (since I had problems with the 1026.jpg or img/p/1/2/0/6/1206.kpg) I can see that the id_product is set to be 179 BUT I do not have that many products in my webshop, and so this id should never have existed?

 

Are there a way to prune/purge my database for wrong/outdated entrys? 

if not, is it safe to delete everything where id_product is higher than the biggest number I have in my shop?

 

(If I have 60 items, with ID from 1-60, can I then safely delete everithing that's 61 and above?)

 

I am in dire need of help here.

have you tried regenerating your thumbnail's?
