Unless I'm missing something obvious, I can't see any chat facility on this site?

[bTW typo: should be Meccano]

the Chat is definitely live and in use. It is on the bottom left of the page. Two blue boxes, the top one says Happy new year, the bottom says Chat?

And thanks for spotting my typo :)

Strange - looking now, you can't miss it. When I looked earlier at work, there was nothing there, neither of those blue boxes.

Using Chrome on both occasions.

Also the translation thingy above the categories block didn't look like that either.

Must be something to do with my work - they are hyper-fussy about our internet access.

Cleator Moor, eh?  A few years since I was in the Blue Bell at Egremont (brother-in-law used to live in Eskett).  :)

Cheers, Dave

Hello,

I know this topic is little bit old but my reply may be useful for somebody...

We've been using OfferChat until recently when they announced that the service will be closing. It was a great Free alternative to Zopim.

So, I've tested many other Free Live Chat Softs, here is my personal Review :

- tawk.to: good chat, many features although it is still in beta, unlimited Agents, multi-language, etc. The problem, I believe it is not intended for websites managing many Agents. In fact, their goal seems to be different, it is more a Chat tool to meet people not suitable for business. You cannot manage Agents, you cannot know when they logged in and when they logged out, almost no Statistics, etc.

A module is available for Prestashop

- jivochat.com: Free for 5 operators, nice design, many features for the Free edition, many Statistics, Widget customizable, multi-language. They also offer an App to install if you don't want to use your Browser.

No Prestashop module yet.

So, I think we will go with jivochat...

Reading this thread tawk.to looked good so I downloded and installed their Prestashop module from their GitHub link.

I'm using Prestashop 1.6.0 and although it now appears in my back office modules list and seemed to install, when I click the configuration tab it throws the following error:

[PrestaShopException]

Module tawkto not found
at line 50 in file classes/controller/ModuleAdminController.php

45.         if (!$tab->module)
46.             throw new PrestaShopException('Admin tab '.get_class($this).' is not a module tab');
47.
48.         $this->module = Module::getInstanceByName($tab->module);
49.         if (!$this->module->id)
50.             throw new PrestaShopException("Module {$tab->module} not found");
51.     }
52.
53.     /**
54.      * Creates a template object
55.      *

    ModuleAdminControllerCore->__construct - [line 31 - modules/tawkto/controllers/admin/AdminTawktoController.php]
    AdminTawktoController->__construct - [line 131 - classes/controller/Controller.php] - [2 Arguments]
    ControllerCore::getController - [line 366 - classes/Dispatcher.php] - [1 Arguments]
    DispatcherCore->dispatch - [line 54 - admin/index.php]

I reported it to their support by email but if anyone knows a fix please let me know.
