Blanquiavolo
Hello guys. I'm trying to install prestashop 1.5.6. I've installed dozens of prestashops and this time I'm unable to do so. Does anyone have a clue on what is doing at this stage (12%)? Thank you.
benjamin utterback
Hi, this is most likely caused by a permissions issue. Please contact your host in order to set permissions correctly to create the database and continue with installation. Usually 755 for directories and 644 for files is good enough but permissions vary by host. Keep us posted thanks!
Blanquiavolo
Hello Benjamin, thanks for your reply. Just for testing purposes, I changed permissions to files and directories to 777 and I still get the same error. Create settings.inc file Create database tables An error occured during installation...You can use the links on the left column to go back to the previous steps, or restart the installation process by clicking here. I get a green tickle on step 1 and a red cross on step 2. Is there any other thing I can try? Thank you very much. brianyare
I had the same problem this morning on my hosted system. I requested that the max_execution_time in php.ini be increased from 30 secs. My host upped this to 240 secs for me and the installation then completed. Blanquiavolo
I did this, and still nothing. In fact, it takes about 30 seconds to show the error, so I don't think it's related to this in my case Thanks for taking your time to reply. Anyone else? brianyare
If you get the error after 30 seconds it is a good sign that the php.ini max execution time is too low. My ISP agrees that another user had the same problem. We now have 240 secs. Please ask your ISP one more time, and check in your phpdata that the valur has been changed. Blanquiavolo
Hello brianyare, I have my own dedicated server and I changed the max_execution_time myself to 240. Running ini_get('max_execution_time'); shows 240. I'm desperate!
vekia
after chanigng php ini settings it is necessary to restart apache server, have you tried to restart it?
Blanquiavolo
Yes, vekia. I've done so several times
outwardjourney
I am having a similar problem, but the host won't change the time. Is there a manual install method?
vekia
maybe you've got some pre-installer like scriptaculous in your hosting account management page? if I were you, i will check it first
reflectiveoffice
I have exactly the same issue. The install hangs at 12% create database tables. The strange thing is the database appears to have tables in it and is over 7MB in size. I tried setting permissions to 777 and increasing the server timeout but nothing seems to work. outwardjourney
Yes, mine varied on what tables were written and what the size was based on that. I eventually gave up because doing it manually didn't work either. It's unfortunate as I heard great things about this software. Eventually went over to CubeCart. Better luck next time.
Maxima
Any solution anyone got so far I am also facing SAME problem I have repeated everything fresh (deleting all database files....) but still... My installation has freezed at 12% Permissions on folders is 755 max_execution_time = 240 (checked as Pacal mentioned above) There are 220 tables in database Why it is not moving on from 12%?????? benjamin utterback
Hello everyone, There may be other server related reasons why the installation hangs at 12 percent. I would like to know what some of these hosts say... I don't think the problem is not the software because if you install it locally or any quality shared server it will install. reflectiveoffice
I may have found a solution that might help others who have this issue. During installation, try installing a MyISAM database instead of an InnoDB database. This solved my problem and the installation was successful. bassmonster
Hi All, i had the exact same problem. i was trying to install using firefox browser. i then tried internet explorer which installed prestashop...odd but worked for me..
feelgood
Kept getting the same error, changing to internet explorer was no option for me, 'cause I'm on a mac. Could not install MyISAM because my hosting provider changed over to InnoDB completely. Do not want to change my hosting server, either. I resolved the problem by uploading from localhost after some database optimisation. Other folks solved the problem by increasing timeout values on PHP.ini file on their server. See details in this thread: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/294168-create-database-tables-an-error-occurred-during-installation/
ileriya
I solved this problem using command line installation.
benjamin utterback
Alright so in this thread there are 4 proposed solution for this issue. I'm going to close it and mark it as SOLVED because this is a hosting/server side error that can be solved in various ways as outlined in this thread. My two cents, if your hosting provider won't change a php.ini script to install software, switch to another one ASAP. If they restrict you on permissions and even the type of database, switch. This isn't rocket science and a good host knows this. Check out InMotion Hosting if you are having problems with your current host. http://www.prestashop.com/en/ecommerce-hosting/inmotion-hosting Thanks. weasam
Hope my answer would give a little help to others, change your fixing problem in another way, don't get stuck at one Here is my experience First attempt : Prestashop 1.7.6.2, PHP5.6 Modified php.ini: max_execution_time = 240 [didn't] work second attempt: Prestashop 1.7.6.2, PHP7.2 Modified php.ini: max_execution_time = 240 works perfects Then I know, it's necessary to look on prestashop official requirement for installation Edited November 10, 2019 by weasam (see edit history)
