Payment Sense - READ CAREFULLY

Recommended Posts

So I say the Payment Sense advertisement on my Back office home screen.

Thought I would look into this and looked up their website which states the following (copied from their page):

"You can process up to £50k of free transactions each year for just one monthly payment of £10. There is nothing like it on the market."

Sounds pretty good, so I signed up for a 'try before you buy' account and it all worked well.

Then I contacted them to ask them to sign me up as I was looking to switch from PayPal to them (save lots of money).

I got a e-contract asking me to sign. Read through all the information, which I guess most people can not be bothered with...

£95 Configuration charge - Not mentioned anywhere on their page

1.8% charge for VISA Credit cards

and so on...

Now I may be naive, but the '50k of free transactions' for £10pcm really did sound very different from what the contact I got said. I do not think I will be signing up for this (will have to re-consider) as I feel that I have been mislead with the advertisement and statement on their web-page.

Hope someone may find this of use, but thought I may as well describe my experience, and it may prevent someone from signing up without reading the contract just to be surprised afterwards

Hello Love-Vaping

We are very sorry to hear that PaymentSense did not provide the service you were expecting for your online store.

PaymentSense provides an all-in-one solution which includes an account from the merchant bank. This account incurs fees per credit/debit transaction and a charge to configure the payment gateway.

It is much easier/clearer for all costs to be explained by one of our team on the phone and they make sure our merchants are aware of charges before an account is signed for and set up.

We appreciate all feedback and will review our wording on the website concerning pricing to avoid any future confusion.

Hi PaymentSense Ecom,

I am sure you provide a competitive solution and never meant to suggest otherwise. However, personally I found the information listed on your website to be suggesting something different from what the contract was saying.

I understand that the contract that the client signs is what matters, but there are many Merchants that do not have the time to read the small print and therefore assume that the information from the website is more or less what is in the contract.

I was simply trying to make other aware of the fact that £10pcm is not all that is to be paid, even though on your page it stated: "You can process up to £50k of free transactions each year for just one monthly payment of £10. There is nothing like it on the market."

I see that you have now removed that "FREE" from that statement!

Just a suggestion, but it may be worth mentioning the 'Configuration Charge' on your page, rather then it being mentioned first in the contract.

Hi

Thanks for your feedback, it's always appreciated. Many gateway providers charge a monthly gateway fee and a gateway transaction fee, so we are stating that our gateway is only charged monhtly. We have removed the FREE transaction to help make that point clearer.

In regards to this, there will be some exciting new changes coming to the PaymentSense website very soon so keep an eye out for those!
