MultiStore Units Conversion

Hi All,

 

I have an issue with units in Multistore.

 

We have a Metric and an inferior...sorry imperial site in multistore.

 

The default store is metric and I set the US shop default units to lbs in localisation, but the weight is not converted from kg to lbs in product description and prestashop only allows one product weight in multistore (in the _products table not in _products_shop table)

 

This renders using different units of weight in multistore impossible?

 

A 1.3kg product is not a 1.3lbs product?

 

Am I missing something?

I have not tried this but I suspect you are sharing the products between both shops yes?   If so then of course there would be only one field for both shops (weight).  I guess the work around is 'custom' code of some sort or not sharing products.

I am sharing products among the shops.

 

Certainly the Product Weight should be consistent accross shops.

 

I will have to just use a single unit of measure across all stores, or write some code to adjust weights based on the default country unit.

Please let us know your final solution might be.

 

This is an interesting point you have, if you can select different units....but share products..it's not a leap to expect conversion...
