Password Protection Per Department

Hello All,

I am trying to set up a site for my wifes photography, and would like to make each department separately password protected, so each customer is only capable of seeing their allowed pictures using their given password

Is there a module or config capable of accomplishing this?

You can do this by using customer groups.

1/ you define several groups of customers
2/ for each category, you specify which group(s) is (are) allowed to access it
3/ you put each customer in the appropriate group(s)

the only thing that you have to think of, is when you add the default group to a category, then all other groups will see it (unfortunately).

Thanks for the quick reply! This is exactly what I needed.

A couple more questions if you guys have the time:

Now, is there some way to default to the group's product screen after they login, rather than going to the My Account page?

I am sure there is a way, but it would need some tweaking
