[SOLVED] Homeslider image order not updating

Hello, I can't seem to effectively change the order of the slides in the homeslider module. I drag and drop a slide to the top, but when I hit refresh, the order is back at the default (1,2,3,4,5). I've tried clearing the cache, but to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi,

can you open the browser's debug console (usually f12) and see if there is any javascript error when you move slides?

in addition to what Nemo said, make sure that you use correct protocol, i mean while you're trying to log in, make sure that this communicate doesn't appear:

 

if it appears, it means that your browser will block all ajax queries

vekia, I checked and it does not appear. 

 

Nemo1, indeed, I receive 403 Forbidden errors everytime I move the slides. Any ideas how to resolve this? Thanks!

403 error is strictly related to hosting settings, have you got some .htaccess files in slider directory?

I don't....

I didn't mention it, but uploading new slides, changing names and such, all work fine.

Check that the folder has 777 permission (the module's folder). 755 should be fine, but 777 is worth trying if you get permission issues

Everything in the modules folder is set to 777. And everything inside the homeslider folder...

Ha! That did it! Wow... Thanks a lot! 

Any explanation on why a lesser permissions setting worked and 777 didn't? You don't have to respond, I'm just glad it works now.

Your hosting is probably not allowing such a high level of permission...I guess
