Cart Item Quantity & Shipping Charges

I have two issues I'm hoping have quick fixes that I haven't seen before.

 

1) If you try to manually enter a product quantity the cart doesn't take it. It's forcing you to press the add/subtract button. This is a serious problem if we have a customer that needs 10+ items.

 

2) Is there a line I could add in the .tpl file that could list the shipping charge below the unit price of individual items? We have some items with free shipping and some with shipping added. I'd like to show in the cart which items are inuring the shipping charge.

 

To get around this the items that have shipping charges have a flat rate "Additional shipping cost" on them (preview below).
