the.rampage.rado
Hello PSers!I'm currently trying to speed up my site a little. I managed to install and run APC and there's improvement.I played around with php.ini and got also better results. Now I would like to play with media servers. As most of you know those settings are a mess. It's like nobody managed to get them working.Could some of you please share the knowledge and tell me how to set subdomain media servers. Like img.mysite.com, js.mysite.com, css.mysite.com which are pointing to the apropriate folder. Thanks!
El Patron
I'm sure you have reviewed this, but not positive, it would seem to be a fairly straight forward process.. http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS15/Understanding+the+Advanced+Parameters#UnderstandingtheAdvancedParameters-Mediaservers
the.rampage.rado
I checked it of course but it gave me more questions than it solved.I read an old thread about 1.4's servers and somebody there did like so:static1.site.com redirects to root static2.site.com redirects to root static3.site.com redirects to rootI did the same and it worked out of the box. No need to edit or copy anything.I see the css, js and images loading from random servers (obviously not every module use this function).Should I have an improvement when I have those settings? Google didn't give me any points but pingdom gave me ~8 on this only.

the.rampage.rado
Shared hosting... if does matter... I'm very far away from being 'my own webmaster' because on the shared I can't control many features..
El Patron
Shared hosting... if does matter... I'm very far away from being 'my own webmaster' because on the shared I can't control many features.. shared is a fine place to start...probably the biggest detriment for shared is not having mod expires, some do some don't...but it 'significantly' helps user perception of shop speed.
