IAS
Hi all! I'm considering PrestaShop over a paid e-commerce solution and wondering if it's right for my business. I don't need anything too complicated - just something to sell digital image products for instant download. Here are my questions: -Is it easy to implement a lightbox or an 'enlarge' feature? -How can I offer the digital images in more than one format (.jpg or .png, for example.) After quickly checking out a demo I'm uncertain how to do that without duplicating the product. -Does accepting payments by Paypal come with any added cost? How about accepting credit card payments? -Anyone have recommendations for a good free theme suited for instantly-downloadable digital products? Thanks in advance! IAS
Is there anyone that can help with these questions? It would be greatly appreciated
Carolina Custom Designs
Here are my questions: -Is it easy to implement a lightbox or an 'enlarge' feature? 'Easy' is a relative term. What is easy for one person might not be so easy for another. PS already makes use of fancybox on the product page. How can I offer the digital images in more than one format (.jpg or .png, for example.) After quickly checking out a demo I'm uncertain how to do that without duplicating the product. AFAIK you can only offer a single download per product. -Does accepting payments by Paypal come with any added cost? How about accepting credit card payments? Standard PP fees apply when accepting payment by PP. PP allows you to accept credit card payments. If you wish to use another CC company more than likely there will be monthly fees associated. -Anyone have recommendations for a good free theme suited for instantly-downloadable digital products? Not currently. Marty Shue
IAS
Thanks for your reply Marty. I'll look in to the fancybox feature. As for downloading multiple versions of a file, I did find a mod here but there doesn't seem to be a consensus on whether it's compatible with the latest version of PS or not. And...I know PP has their own fees but I was wondering if PS had their own associated charges... guess not, eh? Nice portfolio, btw!
Carolina Custom Designs
As for downloading multiple versions of a file, I did find a mod here but there doesn't seem to be a consensus on whether it's compatible with the latest version of PS or not. I thought you were asking about native functionality. It cannot be achieved natively but if you wish to purchase a module it can be accomplished. I would recommend the module by Tomer. I haven't used that module but I would be extremely surprised if it was not compatible with 1.5.x. And...I know PP has their own fees but I was wondering if PS had their own associated charges... guess not, eh? No, PS does not have fees. Nice portfolio, btw! Thank you very much!
