Module PayPal Europe ver. 3.6.1

I am having problmes to get the module "PayPal Europe ver. 3.6.1" - developed by PrestaShop - to work on my preastshop installation ver. 1.5.4.1.

  When I choose PayPal as payment and push the "Confirm Order" bottom I am not transferred to paypal, but only to a side on my own shop where it says:   

 

> Your shopping cart > PayPal Error occurred:  

 

I have had PayPal support to look at the issue, and they have come back after several trails to get it to work. They think the problem could be in the module it self.

 

They say that the module is not contacting PayPal at all, and therefore my API information is not sent to PayPal.

  Please could anyone look into this issue, while I am not able to use paypal as a payment choose for my customers.

I am not able to see the PayPal option. Do you think you can try having 5 step checkout enabled. make sure to have a backup first before you make any changes.

 

Change to 5 step checkout, I think you have to enable PayPal again. Let me know if the problem is the same
