vekia
after prestashop installation you should see information about admin directory. if you missed this message, please log in to your FTP check root directory of your store. You will see there directory named adminXXXX where XXXX is the number. Then open this directory in your browser: http://yourwebsite.com/adminXXXX/

Where in the system can you alter the layout of the main screen, or is that changed by installing new themes, I am using this on the back on of radio control forum so there a few items i.e manufacturers, suppliuers etc which i dont need to display. Thanks in advance Gash (Gary)

vekia
prestashop is based on smarty engine, it mean that you have to modify .tpl files located in your theme. tpl file is a mix of html and smarty language. so, if you want to modify template - add new columns, remove others - you need to modify these files. to manage modules you can run live edit feature located in modules > positions tab

If so, have you edited any of the files within your backoffice/Advanced Parameters/SEO and URLs?

claybourg
So how can I reverse in order to use live edit? Will turning friendly URL off allow me to work with live edit? If so can I turn it back on without damage to the URL's? Thank you
NemoPS
Turning off friendly urls is non destructive. just go to the back office, SEO and URLs tab, and scroll down. You will see 'enable friendly urls'. just set it to no
