Product import CSV fails but returns no error message

Dear all,

I've encountered a confounding behaviour on my PrestaShop install as regards product import via CSV. I have tested all CSVs locally and they are processed without error on my local install. Please see attached for an example of product data.

While my category import is processed perfectly, the product import fails. Moreover, no error message is given. Once I select Import CSV Data, I am returned to the Import page with only the navigation appearing and no error message.

I have contacted my hosting provider as this is an issue only on my hosted and not my local environment. They report that there is no error in the PHP logs or other relevant logs and that the script does not run out of memory.

Has anyone else encountered such an issue? I am currently using v 1.2.0.8.

I have resolved this issue, for the most part. By ignoring the ID column I was able to import the products. I do encounter strange behaviour, as instead of returning me to the Import page with a success message I am asked to open an index.php (which is empty). All the products do load in time, as I can see from the Tools >> Search tab the number of products that are imported. I can then index all products and all seems well, if poorly behaved and perhaps a little flakey. Anyone like to add anything?
