BFrank
What is the best way to move the search bar into the top horizontal menu? I'm using the current (1.5.6.0) prestashop default theme.
Guest
Access it by configuring this module: Top horizontal menu There is a tick box in the config settings
BFrank
Thank you. But now there is two search boxes appearing, one in the menu and the other above. Is there a way to hide the original one?

vekia
go to modules > modules and disable search block module (if you want search block in top menu only you don't need search module)
BFrank
I can't post a link because I am creating the website locally on my computer. However, vekia's tip did the trick! After enabling "Search Bar" in the "Top horizontal menu" configuration settings I went and disabled the "Quick search block" module. Which left me with what I originally wanted, a search bar within the menu.
vekia
thank you for confirmation that it works now im going to mark this thread as [solved] if you need any additional assistance related to this case - just continue discussion below with regards, Milos
vekia
Hello, sorry for reopening this thread, but i face the problem this user had. And like he, i enabled the search box inside horizontal menu and disabled the original one. Thing is, now the "quick search" (results appearing as people write in the search box) isn't working. I thought it could be from disableing the original search box and re-enabled (its ugly, 2x search boxes) but the box inside the horizontal menu still has no auto-complete/quick search. Can anyone help me..? (also can you remove the "solved" on this post so more users may try to help?) if it is possible - please share url to your website. it's necessary to inspect it with developer tools

Jet7
Sry i have no clue what that means, "BFrank".. :S --- Edit, just realised that's the name of the user that opened this topic. No, i'm nandomalmeida, the user that posted a reply here yesterday. Since the problem is almost the same (started from being the same) i thought it would be a good idea to just continue this topic instead of starting another one. Why have multiple posts about the same thing... Anyway, i'm not BFrank, i'm "nandomalmeida" and i pm'ed you the information you requested, since i'm not allowed to put it here.
