[solved] Search No Longer Works - after upgrade

Hi All..

 

I'm building my prestashop site on my computer and just recently upgraded it to 1.5.6.0..

 

I noticed when I 'view my shop' that no search results found for products comes up when I search by name or by reference number.  It worked before the upgrade.

 

The additional thing that I did after the upgrade was to increase the 'quantity' for all of my products.

 

So I don't know if it was truly the upgrade that broke the search or the product update on quantity.

 

either way... how do I fix this?

HI, in preferences-->search-->(did  you rebuild the index?)

rebuilding the index did the trick.. thanks!

 

just for future reference... why did this occur in the first place.. is it due to the upgrade in which I have to remember to do for each time there is an upgrade?

Hi Tom, ,not sure, we can only guess that the index is either different with the upgrade.  But I am not an upgrade expert.  Glad you are back searching ok, I will mark as solved.
