HTML splash page

Hi all, I am trying to implement my html splash page I built locally. It is named index.html. The link it put to enter the site is mysite.com/index.php. For some reason when I click the link it goes directly to the splash page in a continuous loop. I change the .htaccess to (DirectoryIndex index.html index.php) so it would read the index.html first. Am I missing something?

it's because prestashop loads from / directory aswell as index.html page, so it loads index.html page

I do not wish to high jack this topic, I appreciate I should know better, but is it possible to use a pop-module as a "splash page"

 

as I am looking for the same thing

Paulito, I was thinking a pop up also but I realize how much I dislike them when I go somewhere.

I turned off Friendly URL and the splash page works just fine.

yes it works because prestashop without friendly urls uses index.php file, prestashop with friendly urls use just "/" as a homepage, so your website loads "index.html"

Not that it's any of my business, but splash pages have really gone out of favor...

Bad for SEO and just annoying to customers, my suggestion would be to try and incorporate the splash page into your regular prestashop homepage (index.tpl).
