Geotechnical
We made the jump from 1.4 to 1.5.6 using the 1-click automatic upgrade module. No errors logged during the upgrade, nothing. We can go in the back and see that all is there but the front store is blank. Using Firefox we got a blank page, using Chrome I got an "Server Error" message from the browser. It's kind of like the php server is down when is not. Database is alright, all our products are there, php server up and running. The log table only shows this in the message field: "Cart cannot be loaded or an order has already been placed using this cart. Try to log-out or delete your web browser cookies." but it's an old message from this year. I changed in the defines.inc.php the '_PS_MODE_DEV_' but stil deosn't show me any error message. Any suggestions? Please advice. Thanks Robert Edited October 29, 2013 by Geotechnical (see edit history)
NemoPS
Can you try deleting your htaccess file?
vekia
sometimes hosters disable viewing logs even if you change PS_MODE_DEV to true. sometimes also modules switching this feature to off. in this case helpfull will be access to php error logs file, have you got privileges to check it? Geotechnical
Hi guys, thank you so much for your answers and sorry for not coming back earlier with some inputs. The problem was serious enough to enroll in a support program. The debugging team from PrestaShop is still working on it. Huge recommendation for anybody atempting to use a temp url like we were doing: "This is the official guideline that we advise to all of our customers and the Temporary URL is not the easiest solution to work with....As far as 1.4.4 running on the temporary URL and not 1.5.6 is because the latest version of Prestashop implemented the new Multi-Store feature that depends on the "Virtual Host" feature, in turn affecting the Temp URL. It is possible to make Temp URL to work on your latest 1.5.6, but it will require a lot of work." Thanks again and we think will be great if people can find this tip in a help doc or manual because it will save them so much time and uncertainty.
