[Solved]Dupicate h1 tags on product page

Hi all,

 

i hope you can help me, ive got a problem that ive spent 2 weeks on but i can't solve it.

 

The product page is showing duplicate h1 tags. The duplicate tag is the product title. Its something to do with the heading for the right and left column of the product page but i cant solve it.

 

It is happening on every product.

that is what I've done, then i re-upload the product.tpl file and noting changed, so i had a look at the source code and the whole pb-right-column is still in the code, even thought Ive deleted it.

remove id="pb-right-column" or class="span4" do not remove the div tag
save the modified file, and turn off/disabled cache and activate smarty force recompile.
reload the product page and see what happen.

if h1 tag doesn't duplicated, then there is a javascript running on your site or on the product page causing this issue.

if you already turn off smarty cache, and turn on smarty force compile please mention it on your post, but please make sure you was doing it right
But if you don't know how to do it, then you should say it on your post.

Ive solved it :-)

 

the problem was I was editing the product.tpl file and using filezilla to upload it, but filezilla wasn't working properly.

 

I loged into the plesk editor for my server and the file was still the original, so i edited it online and abracadabra it worked :-)

in order to test it, i completely deleted the product.tpl file from the server, and the product page is still working....i have no idea what is going on

 

there are two possibilities:

- you removed wrong product.tpl file (maybe from different theme?)

- it's related to cache
