(pop up) tabs not loaded correctly, would you like to reload them?

Prestashop 1.5.4.1 - hosted with Kualo

 

I have read another thread but need specific & detailed help with exactly what to do as am an not too techy but can (if easy enough) locate files on servers & edit some html.

 

When I go into a product I get the following pop up error message:

 

Some tabs was not loaded correctly. Would you like to reload them?

 

And occassionally get a black page -

From what I can gather from another thread on this forum, this problem is most likely caused by mod_evasive in Apache, or other security modules that prevent too many requests from being made to the server in a short interval of time.

The "Edit product" page tries to pre-load the tabs in the left (SEO, Prices, etc). Loading a tab is done by doing an ajax request to the server. That means that whenever you load this page, 10 or more requests are being made instantly to the server.

 

It's suggests putting my IP on a white list - I have no idea how to do this....

also, I don't want to disable all error messages, as I don't to 'break' anything ;-)

 

Can someone please help with a solution that is in simple step by step terms?

please turn on browser console (ctrl+shif+J), while tabs are loading, you should see there some kind of errors

can you please paste output od console here? (chrome browser)

it looks like quantities tab doesnt work for you. Can you check also "network" tab output, have you got there some 404 errors ?

Hi.

OK, this is reply 6 as my posts are not showing... sorry if they all suddenly appear!! I'm not sure why they are not showing!

 

I cannot find the network tab... I will post a screen print if this post is successful :-)

It looks like your store has got problem with load of tabs synchronically.

 

instead of prestashop, have you got also some other script installed in the same directory?

second thing, can you please try to disable SEO & urls and apache multiviews option under preferences > seo & urls tab

Thanks for getting back to me... so you somehow managed to see the screen print :-)

 

I'm not sure about other scripts, I was sent a file from a webmaster which was prestashop with all the templates to open my store with as we are the UK version of a German store/website, so I'm not really sure what sort of scripts you are asking about, sorry!

 

I have checked the preferences > seo & url's

 

friendly url is enabled(yes)

accented url is disabled(no)

automatically redirect to the canonical url is disabled(no)

disable apache multiviews is disabled(no)

disable apache mod security is disabled (no)

 

In the meantime, I raised a technical ticket with Kualo, my hosting company who have put my ip address on a white list & also they said they have recently deployed mod_evasive on our servers, so it's possible it's interferring with my site. They have increased the number of connections for me but it is still bringing back the error - the ticket is still open & I'm currently trying to send them a screen print.

no, just Prestashop. I think the problem is due to the host. I have several PS installations and they all behave the same.

I was supplied with a load of files from a German webmaster to set up my prestashop in the UK the same as Germany.

He mentioned that he had issues with PHP 5.4 in the past, & thinks PHP 5.2 works best.
Also make sure you enable the apache module mod_rewrite (not sure on this bit though!!)

 

So... Kualo changed it to PHP 5.2

They still have my IP address whitelisted & have raised the number of accepted connections to the highest possible as to what they consider safe (over 12 as there are 12 tabs trying to load on the products page).

 

They asked for an admin sign in for prestashop but we agreed that as my webmaster knows more on the files/content that it would be better to approach the webmaster as I am still having the issue.

 

If I manage to resolve this error pop up I will come back & post on here to help anyone else having the same issue.

I use mozilla but also tried explorer & chrome.... I had the best success with Safari for windows as I don't have a mac.

 

I still have the error in safari but don't click ok until I have waited 10 seconds - not the most ideal solution but one that works for now.

 

The other options were to move hosting, or reprogramme presta  and insert a delay to ajax requests.

 

My webmaster has been a super star helping but for now, I am taking the easy option of just using safari & waiting 10 seconds & seeing how I get on with it this way.

I have been running several PS sites on Kualo for more than a year. All was good. They made some changes and all sites fail now. So, it's nothing to do with Prestashop or any sort of modifications from our side. That's their fault.

 

What is you support call number on Kualo? I will create my own call to push them, just want to refer to your call in order to let them know this is not a single case.

Do you know what they did to resolve it? I am having the same problem on a godaddy server. And godaddy is not being helpful. Guy on the phone hadn't heard of mod_evasive. Trying to get it escalated - the more info I can give them the better.

I can't fully remember, i'm sorry, it was something to do with the mod_evasive I think they worked on it or possibly removed it & worked on it.

It did help (in the short term) that I used Prestashop in google chrome as well as safari instead of mozilla & just waited for the page to load properly, it was time consuming waiting 10seconds or so but it did help!  I don't know anything about godaddy, sorry!
