PrestaToys
I also tried to set up multi store but things did not go so well. I am now weighing my options... a) try to get multi store to work properly copy my prestashop installation and SQL database, then have 2 independent stores. With multi store I see an advantage of saving time and sharing the database, but will trying to figure how to get it to work save time or cause nightmares? I am undecided at this point. Any and all opinions are welcome.

It really is a matter (and as not provided here in detail) is how you are setting up your shops. duplicating content...using one(1) gTLD and many ccTLD URL's will 'significantly' increase your seo. for seperate shops...do just that..don't share anything...then load the template to 'that' shop. honestly, the best thing for me about ps, is it's by country catalog support....with multishop...it's the best on the planet
PrestaToys
Thanks El Patron, 1. I enabled multistore 2. created a group 3. put my current store in that group 4 added a new store into that group with a sub-domain, and copied from first store. I can still see my first store (main store?) but the second one is nowhere to be found. "Page not Found" Is there something else that needs to be copied, anything enabled, or something to be generated? We picked Prestashop much for the the multishop feature as well... it would be great to get it working. Oh, and there is nothing showing in the multishop tree... just a blank box. hmm... If you have any ideas to get it working, it'd be much appreciated!

PrestaToys
I did not mean copy... I meant I selected the "Import data from other site" from my original site. Sorry about that. I am working with 1.5.6.0 Yes, the missing tree makes me think something has gone terribly wrong in the back end. I tried to ungroup the two sites and remove the groups but no way to delete the group, or to dis-associate my site from that group. Hopefully I am simply doing something wrong, but I have now attempted to set up a second shop a few times, with the same results... second site pages cannot be found, and the missing tree issue. If you think of anything for me to try, please let me know. Thanks again!
PrestaToys
I did get things sorted out, thanks Nick. But I did look at your page and it is really helpful (pictures really are worth 1000 words)! I really appreciate the feedback, and it will come in useful next time. I have bookmarked that page and your site and may contact you in the future if I have any development needs. I am looking for someone who can help me (or do it for me) create some new Prestashop modules. Thanks again for the reply!!!
Rom Soul
Hi, sorry for being so late at the party , but you seem to know a lot about multistore I installed one, and it started well but lately I cannot customize the theme for my second store : Nothing happens on front office when I modify the .tpl files... I triple checked I modify the right tpl, that cache and compile are disabled, etc... modifying templates works perfectly for store 1 with theme 1, but modifying templates for store 2 with theme 2 does nothing... Any clue for this complete mistery (to me) ? #EDIT# (Later is better than never : I would not want my post to poison any mind ) It happens my bug was not related to Prestashop Multistore, or even Prestashop . The second store has its own domain, but at some point it stopped pointing at the same FTP drive as the first store... It took me time to understand that because it only appeared after a while, and the store was still pointing at the same DB. AND my dear coworker in charge of this stuff kept saying me "there is no room for any bug in this kind of things" Well my friend there was, indeed TRUST NO ONE This explains why any modification on store 2 from the administration was ok (because stored in DB) But any modification on store 2 template files was not taken in account (because wrong FTP) A simple test to know if you face this situation is to access a CSS file directly from the browser, so you can check if your FTP modifications appear on it or not. ( And don't trust guys who pretend they never make mistakes, of course ) Edited April 24, 2016 by Rom Soul (see edit history)
costamj
Hi, Anyone can tell me if in MultiStore for 2 different domains we have different logins in backoffice for each store? My idea is to use MultiStore option for 2 domains, and each store will have different login access. When i am accessing to 1 domain store I cannot see any data or information from the other store, only if I login in the other store Thanks for your help,
