Theme always keeping the default colour attribute selected after saving product customisation

Hi guys,

 

I am making a theme based off the default theme. I have run into a problem though where if a product has more than one colour attribute to select. The default colours selected are always grey, but the problem is that if I select a colour other than grey and save my product customisation, then it refreshes the page with the colour I selected and the default grey still selected. You may notice I have a customisation_saved query I'm using in the URL, I still have the same problem even if I'm not using that, so this is not the cause.

 

Any suggestions on what could be the problem, as I can't get my head around it.
