Assamita
Hi everybody. I'm trying to install Prestashop and it always fails at the same spot (see screenshot). I've tried in two different hosting servers, and the error message doesn't say anything about how to solve it. Can you help me? Thank you
PrestaNinja
Did you do a manual installation or use installation script from web hosting service? Edited October 18, 2013 by PrestaNinja (see edit history)
Assamita
I installed it manually. Downloaded the zip, unzipped it, uploaded to the hosting service, created the blank database, and then start the installation

benjamin utterback
What does that error say in English? It's most likely one of two things, your memory needs to be increased or your permission set is configured incorrectly for your server. Make sure that your folders and files at set as 755, if that does not work try 777 just to install it. Also, you may want to try to download a fresh new version and use that. Maybe some files were corrupted during download or upload Also, you should try and increase your memory limits from your hosting provider. You can try and change it manually with your php.ini file, read more information here. How to Optimize php.ini
Assamita
In english, the error message would be something like "Configuring store information". You're talking about changing the permissions to the over 6000 files?? that'll take a while.... It's a free hosting service (actually, two different ones). I've never used PS before so I wanted to have a look first, but the definitive one will be on a pay one. Do you think that'll make a difference? there isn't any php.ini file in these two. Assamita
Well, appearently, changing some of the permissions seemed to work (cause I could only change a few files and then I got disconnected from the server). I guess the admin and config folders were enough to change. Thank you
Assamita
I'm here again, same error. What worked in a free hosting service (changing the permissions) didn't do it in the pay one. Every time I try, it fails at 45%, even with all file permissions set to 777. How do I do it to see what the problem is? The error message doesn't say anything useful.
