christillis
Hi All, Sorry to bother you, but after someone worked on this website (http://www.elizabethkingdesigns.co.uk/category.php?id_category=8) The, "the Shop" module (second module down on the left column) isn't pointing to the content correctly and I'm getting a 404. Can anyone advise me on how to change the link back please? Thanks in advance, Chris
SmartDataSoft
hello, chris I just saw your site and find the your site is not not seo friendly set and the store module url is given with seo friendly url to the cms content. So your url will work when only seo friendly url is set.
christillis
Hello smartdatasoft, Thank you so much for the prompt reply. You are right that it is not set to SEO Friendly, it is something I was hoping to fix one day, but it seems that when it is enabled, the product images disappear. Is there a shortcut method I can use to make the 'the shop' link work? I do not normally prefer this method, but I just want to fix without having more things to fix first. Look forward to hearing from you.
SmartDataSoft
Hello, Chris For you i have dig on prestashop and find a solution {$link->getCMSLink('7', 'CMSpage')} here the first parramert you can put the id of the cms page, by using this tag it will work both seo and not seo friendly url, so you do not have to worry about which option is set. PrestaNinja
Hi Chris, this is because the link in shop module is a SEO friendly URL, but you didn't activate SEO friendly URL in BO. If you didn't modified the "Shop" module (I believe you didn't), then there is a bug in that module. So you will have to modified the "Shop module" to shop non SEO url (when not activated), or simply activate SEO friendly URL (from SEO section in BO). After enabling this option, clear all caches. I strongly suggest you activate SEO Friendly, it's really important for SEO...
christillis
Hello Smartdatasoft, Thank you so much for digging. Pardon my ignorance, but where should I put the code? I'm not familiar with 'parramert' I'm afraid? Really appreciate your help! Hi PrestaNinja, Thank you for contributing too, it really is appreciated. There is nothing I would love more than to activate SEO Friendly, but it has always caused problems. I'm hoping that updating the Presta install (currently 1.4.8.3) and upgrade the theme from the forgotten about 'Cave Plus' to 'Cave' will help in some way. I'm partly glad that the 'shop module' may have a bug in it - it does seem that every time I return to this shop to make minor amendments, there's always something that's broken all on it's own - and I'm the only user! Thanks again to both of you! Chris

christillis
Hi Smartdatasoft, I'm sure that is not your real name I located that file and changed the code, with no luck I also found the standard presta install version of the same module and tried to change the code there, and that didn't work either :-( I did not even break it. BUT... I then enabled 'force compile' under the Preferences > Performance and 'hey presto', it is now working Once it worked, I disabled it again, like a good boy THANK YOU SO MUCH FRIEND, I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP - WONDERFUL PERSON
