[SOLVED] 1-click upgrade failure from 1.5.5.0 to1.5.6.0

Recommended Posts

I attempted to upgrade from from 1.5.5.0 to 1.5.6.0. The pre-Upgrade checklist items all have green checkmarks. After I click "Upgrade PrestaShop Now !" the "Activity Log" shows "Currently Processing" with the gear cog then that disapears and all that's shown is the message below. I waited for several minutes and nothing happens. I tried this a couple times with no change. What could be preventing a successful upgrade?

Activity Log:

Analyzing the situation ...Shop deactivated. Now downloading (this can takes some times )...

Dp you have installed the newest version of 1-click-upgrade module? You can download it from Prestashop Addons and install it manually.

Also give the folder public_html the following CHMOD 777 recursive files and folders.

Then is works.

Afterwards give all folders CHMOD 755 and 644 for all files.

Error 403 is forbidden. If you have no files at your webspace, then it give that error.

With all the files and folders chmod 777, the website should be working. So i don't know what is happend.

Some things i should do, but maybe it's not working for you:

  • Clear cache of the browser and hit CTRL+F5 (Browser cache issue);
  • Maybe your htaccess file is not right anymore. Just delete it, or rename it (SEF issue);
  • Clear Cache of Prestashop (Smarty Cache issue).

No problem, just making sure. If you are receiving a 403 after setting permissions to 777 then that narrows it down. It could be that your host does not allow permission changes to 777 on the root. Try 777 with all files and folders except public_html.

If that does not work, then try with 755, as you know permission sets vary with each host.

By the way, what hosting company/method are you using for your Ecommerce store? Did you start out with 1.5.5?

The error_log located in the store administrator folder revealed the failure was due to a php memory limit. I increased the limit and it worked.

Line from error_log
