Problem accessing BO

I'm using 1.4

 

I did a test install of 1.5 but it was in a seperate directory, essentially as a test-bed for new site. I fear there may have been a conflict of files

 

Now when I try log into BO for 1.4 i can't and when I ask for new password it gives me a 404 screen on the website.

 

Any suggestions much appreciated!

was the 1.5 directory a subdirectory of the current 1.4?

Have you tried removing the new version, along with the .htaccess file located in the main 1.4 folder?

took the new version off, didn't delete the htt access. am in extremis so am trying new install. Change of tack - will 1.4.11 SQL database work into 1.5?
