Guest
Over the last few weeks more and more of our customers are reporting issues when checking out. They get past our shop into the Moneybookers / Skrill website and then are told they cannot complete the purchase because they are not over 18 They are over 18, and why would moneybookers be checking this anyway? Anyone else having similar issues? It is getting worse and we are now losing sales I have contacted Skrill, but have had no response
vekia
im not using skrill payment, but in their ToS you can read: https://www.skrill.com/en/siteinformation/terms-conditions/ 4.2. If you are an individual, you must be 18 years or older to use our services and by opening a Skrill Account you declare that you are 18 years or older. This does not apply to products for which we set a different age limit. We may require at any time that you provide evidence of your age.
Guest
Hi Thanks for the reply. I think that part of the T&C's is for opening a skrill account? I am talking about customers simply wanting to pay using their credit card. They are over 18, I can see their date of birth on prestashop back office. But when they try to pay, they get to the skrill page and get a message saying they cannot pay because they are under 18 And for more clarity, we are not selling any "adult" products or anything on their list. It is simply nuts and bolts And we have not made any changes to our site, using prestashop 1.5.3.1 and module 1.6.
tuk66
It is between your customers and Skrill. You can't do anything because the payment is completed on a Skrill's page.
Guest
Thanks for the reply Tuk66 I just wanted to be certain (while waiting for Skrill to reply - they are ALWAYS very slow and vague in responses) that it was a Skrill issue and not a potential programming issue . They are not a very communicative company I suggest you contact them also to ensure they switch you back to the old gateway

mindraze
Hi All, just started having the same problem this week with the age of clients being being asked for at checkout. Have also tried to contact skrill/moneybookers which seems to be an impossible task. Did anyone find a solution to this. If not does anyone know a good alternative to run alongside Pay Pal cheers all
Guest
Now my customers are reporting not being able to check out at all, the page just hangs. I have disabled Skrill as I know it is now costing us money I have told them, and no reply We now have PayPal only, and a telephone order line where we can take credit cards over the phone using Intuit Pay
