Should I upgrade to 1.5.6.0

I am currently using 1.5.4.1 with a purchased Responsive Template compatable with that version. If I upgrade to the latest release of PrestaShop, will it break the Template and become unusable???

It *probably* won't, but I would wait a couple of weeks before upgrading, to know which bugs you have to expect once you do. If you are not experiencing major issues, my suggestion is to wait

You should never upgrade after 1-2 days of a software release, you are just asking for problems.

 

What you SHOULD do is make a test copy of your store, and perform a trial upgrade on the test store.  This will tell you what to expect and allow you to prepare for the upgrade, and figure out what modules will or won't work, and if your theme will have issues.

 

Then wait for other guinea pigs to find bugs and resolve them

Then for a new installation would be better go for the 1.5.5.0? I have to migrate from 1.5.2 (a buggy one..) and I have doubts to go for 1.5.4.1 or one of those last two releases, which is the best option? I really want stability..

 

I have another big doubt, when PS releases a new version if there's an important new bug (probably due to some lack of testing..) do they update this same release or you have to go to another place to apply the patch? Is there an official thread for each of those releases?

I would personally choose 1.5.5

As fgor bug fixes, they are usually applied on the github repo as far as I know, while new sub-versions are released if necessary on the official site (say, 1.5.5.1, etc)
