Creating a pack with both taxable and non-taxable items

I am running PS 1.5.3. I would like to create a pack that contains both taxable and non-taxable items. The problem is, when you make a pack you set a single price on the entire pack as if it is a standalone product, which means it is going to tax the entire cost.

 

I guess a "bundle" would be a better term for what I am trying to do. I would like to have a bundle of items, individually priced (and taxed) that when bought together as the bundle, a discount can be applied. I have looked at combinations and packs, neither of which seem to do what I want.

 

Is there any way to accomplish this?
