rightdrive
Prestashop is becoming the most frustrating, difficult platform I have ever used.... We have had issues in trying to upgrade from 1.4.7 to 1.5.3. The upgrade goes fine, but then the server times out during the database upgrade and then nothing will work. I have tried duplicating the site and upgrading that one so we do not affect our live site, but that has proven to be an impossible task as well. I need to get this site upgraded asap, and do not have the time (or patience!) to fool around with this software any further. I'm quite upset that Prestashop proves to be this difficult to upgrade. If someone experienced and capable of doing this will help us out for a small fee it would be most appreciated. Or if someone knows how to get around this timeout issue that would be great too. Thanks.

This shouldn't be an impossible task. What was the problem of making a duplicate test site on a subdomain?
rightdrive
This shouldn't be an impossible task. What was the problem of making a duplicate test site on a subdomain? I copied the site to the subdomain from a backup, and verified all the files were there. I did this twice, and both times the main page just shows up as a single dot in the top left corner. The back office worked fine though.
