Mark Hesketh
With the recent Prestashop 1.6 sneak peak, has there been any word on when the alpha/pre-release branch will be available for developers to prepare with? Looks great by the way. Nice work!

Dh42
One thing to note, it does not include the new front office theme.
Mark Hesketh
Awesome, thanks guys will check it out. Out of interest is there a repo for the front office theme? Would really like to check that out under the hood. Edited October 12, 2013 by Mark Hesketh (see edit history)
Bill Dalton
Mark, I read somewhere that the theme wasn't working. I haven't bothered to install this version yet but I do see a default theme in the theme folder ... have you looked at that? Bill Dalton
Ok, just did a quick install and I now see that the theme appears to be the default 1.5X theme. On the bright side ... at least we know PS 1.6 will be compatible with 1.5X themes. Perhaps that is the reason the PS 1.6 theme wasn't put in. People might begin to use it on 1.5X. That would take away from the excitement when PS 1.6 is launched. “... such speculation is like staring into the hot white sun. you know the sun is there but you can't see a thing.”
devilsown
I really hope they common sence on gussying up admin section this time. Many items in 1.5 are layout poorly. AdminOrders screen. for example in 1.5 and older Important information should be above the fold. "no scroll down" but yet things are being repeated and using up space. Merchandise returns ,paypal returns, payments, etc should be down below the Products: Notes should be up high and should show all of them that pertain to the order.. Many things are repeated that dont need to be. Cutomers names is on the screen twice. invoice number is on there afew times. shipping and payment tabs could be worked into product tabs. Mark Hesketh
Hi Bill, Ah thats a shame, I just assumed the front-end wasn't included from what Dh42 had said. I'm just hoping the new theme is a much better starting point when developing a site. I started a boilerplate a while ago though got tied up with projects outside of Prestashop, but it seemed like it was something that gathered interest. I have a big site re-design from Prestashop 1.2.5 on the horizon, so going to hold off until the RC versions are available to see how the new theme fares as a starting point.
