Uptomen
Hi, I hope someone can help with this please? I have the following installation: Store informationPrestaShop version: 1.5.5.0 Shop URL: http://www.uptomen.co.uk/ Current theme in use: prestashop I have, today, discovered that customers are unable to log in or register at all. The authentication page seems non responsive. When attempting either registration or login from the page there is no response at all. Not even a fail notification. Password changes are working and the email is sent but the customer still cannot log in. I've also just had carts dropping out when clicking 'checkout' The cart is listed in back office but disappears for the customer!! This is driving me rapidly crazy Many thanks for ANY help... Uptomen
Hi El Patron, Yes I have had the site set up for ssl on all pages for some time in order to help boost customer confidence. Although I'm now questioning the point of spending out on a ssl cert The error message you received was the same as I was getting when trying to log in from a cart before the cart dropping issue raised its head. I am 1.5.5.0 but using a the standard 'prestashop' theme. That was taken direct from my configuration page.
El Patron
yes, ssl has it's uses especially for those that sell them and to add insult to injury payment gateways that require site ssl to make payments. one can gen on a unix server their own ssl generators and start a business...back to topic ssl on prestashop is enabled for certain pages. As I see for example landing page with ssl, that means you or someone has made mods to native ps to make that so. Your template looks like the 'default 1.4' template. Did you upgrade to 1.5 from 1.4? El Patron
btw: running ssl considerations, i.e. tune your server http://maanasroyy.wordpress.com/2012/05/05/apache-performance-tuning-keepalive-to-remove-latency/
Uptomen
Your template looks like the 'default 1.4' template. Did you upgrade to 1.5 from 1.4? I quite like the simple look of this template and I did update from 1.4 but, if my memory is correct, the template also updated. I've also tried switching to the default theme and the problem with login continued. I'm at a loss at what to do. I'm certainly not able to sell at the moment as customers cannot login... I also took a quick look at the article and that's something I will look into another day. Any server tuning would be helpful. Thank you so much for the help so far and taking a look... El Patron
there is a big difference in how 1.4 and 1.5 work especially log in. I suggest using the default 1.5 template then retest.
Uptomen
I am going to give that a try later in the week. Currently updating 1.5.6.1 as its been released. I'll see where I am after that. I'm not in work tomorrow but I will report back once I've tried. Thank you again for your help.
Uptomen
there is a big difference in how 1.4 and 1.5 work especially log in. I suggest using the default 1.5 template then retest. Hi El Patron, I cant find where to download the 1.5 default theme. Do you have a handy link please?
El Patron
it comes packaged by release. there is no stand alone 1.5 theme that I know of. I would create a new post under configuration stating you need to upgrade your 1.5 shop's 1.4 template to the 1.5 template...this will get better advice from the community. Uptomen
Thanks to all who viewed this. I have managed to solve my login and account registration problems by playing a little more with the store settings. The problem did indeed seem to be caused by the SSL settings. I had turned SSL off in settings as with it turned on there were too many redirects. However, what I hadn't noticed is that when you choose to turn it on another option apprears on the page to force all pages through ssl (which was my original wish anyway). Sure enough, I chose this option too and everything is working again.... Many thanks to all. Especially El Patron
