dioskey
Hi to all, i have a little problem with PS 1.5.5... i need to show the same shop but with two different domains (configured as aliases). The problem is that Prestashop redirect one domain to another. Here is an example, my current prestashop site is associated to: lovecakepolistirolo.it I configured another domain to refer to the same folder: lovecake.it When you call lovecake.it, the site redirect to lovecakepolistirolo.it I need, instead, something like this: webrevolver.it notanumber.it As you can see you can navigate the same site but using different urls (aliases). Can you help me? Thanks, Alberto
vekia
hello in this case you will have to use multistore feature: http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS15/Managing+multiple+shops unfortunately there is no other way, this is how prestashop works. dioskey
Thanks for your answer Vekia, but i need to show the exactly SAME shop in each domain. This is a normal thing that i used in a lot of website made ad hoc... is this possibility really missing in a platform like Prestashop? And if i activate multishop then i need to buy another license for each module/theme? It's the same shop, not another one... the same shop that you can view with differente urls (in SEO is largerly used...) Let me know, thanks again Alberto
vekia
if you use shop with "address.com" domain definition under preferences > seo & urls you, if you open your website with different domain you will be redirected to domain from settings preferences > seo & urls is this possibility really missing in a platform like Prestashop? it is possible to achieve what you expect with multistore feature And if i activate multishop then i need to buy another license for each module/theme? It's the same shop, not another one... the same shop that you can view with differente urls (in SEO is largerly used...) i don't know licese for your themes / modules - everything depends on it. vekia
in addition to what we said above, in my opinion if you will use several domains to display the same content you might be banned in google, due to the duplicated contents you will have several websites with the same content - it is definitely bad for seo purposes
dioskey
you are right... at the end i choose a single url and set the other one as redirect. thanks again, Alberto
El Patron
be very careful because after review of your 'urls' you 'will' be penalized for duplicate content. you can not have multiple 'ccTLD's', i.e more than one .it with same content.
