timboellis
I have the shop nearly ready to go, however the only warning I have in the back is this do I need to ask my host to install this or is it not really needed? There are 3 warnings. Hide warning To use Memcached, you must install the Memcache PECL extension on your server. http://www.php.net/manual/en/memcache.installation.php To use APC, you must install the APC PECL extension on your server. http://php.net/manual/en/apc.installation.php To use Xcache, you must install the Xcache extension on your server. http://xcache.lighttpd.net
PascalVG
Caching speeds up your client's browsing experience. The three types of caching need some additional files, as indicated. You can contact your host if they support any of these three caching methods. If none of them are supported, you can use the 4th way, file system, which normally should work without any additional files. It may however not be as optimized as one of the other ones. So, check your host and see if they can help you with any of the three. Not sure myself which one is most preferred. Maybe others have more info on this? pascal
