What is the best way to organize products which are common for both Men and Women

I am new to prestashop, can any expert please help me know the best way to add products, where some products are men specific, some are women specific and some are common for both.

 

I have thought few solutions based on my understanding developed so far.

 

1.  Create two categories Men and Women, then add products which are specific, and list them as usual by association and  now for common  products list them in both categories by selecting both categories from associations tab.

     Is this the correct way of doing that ?  Search engines might see this as a duplication of content in two different link ?

         

2.  Instead of Men and Women as category , create an attribute something like gender and have values as Men, Women and Common.  But looks like I am might not be able to create friendly urls like   www.example.com/men/product1

www.example.com/women/product2

www.example.com/product  (common)

              or

www.example.com/men/product

www.example.com/women/product

 

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
