Top/root option in dropdown menu leads to blank page

Recommended Posts

Hi, just been trawling through looking for an answer to this but no luck.

So I have the Top menu module installed and working mostly well. The problem is that I have a couple of dropdown CMS options e.g 'About US' which leads to a dropdown of sub categories so when you hover over it (on the top menu) it expands to About US - About US - Terms and Conditions - FAQ

My problem is that the very very top option 'About Us' leads to a blank page but obviously I want it to link to the relevant 'About Us' page which can be found just below it.

The other dropdowns on my top menu link direct to categories (not CMS) pages and work as they should.

Many thanks

sounds strange, can you share url to your website please? and also if it is possible, can you prepare a screenshot of configuration block of your module (modules > top horizontal menu > condifiguration) - especially part with menu items

Thanks for the fast reply: http://www.inkweartattoos.com

Sure it's not such an odd one, just my lack of knowledge (someone else built the site for me).

So it's the custom dropdown and the about us dropdowns. Simply want the very top root option to link to the relevant page.

No idea how to add the screenshot in here. If it's vital just tell me how and I'll get straight on it.

Thanks

I don't know much about PS 1.4.x, but I think what you're trying to do won't work, not in a standard PS system anyway.

The top level 'About Us' is a CMS category, the lower level 'About Us' is a CMS page within that category.

To use a Windows-based analogy, suppose you have a folder called 'Something.txt' and within that folder is a file also called 'Something.txt'. You wouldn't expect to double click on the folder and see the contents of the file with the same name - you'd see the files within that folder.

It's the same principle with CMS categories/pages.

HTH, Dave
