Luke_Urtnowski
I accidentally deleted a page using the CMS thing and now its gone from the menu. I have the html saved (to paste into the editor) but how do I get a link to the category (Recipes) http://www.swedishsweetsandimports.com to display on the right of the menu? vekia
hello for the first create this page once again under preferences > CMS now the questions is: where you want to display it? here: ? if so, go to modules > CMS block module click on configure and you will see "Useful links" block, just edit it and allow to use new CMS page there (tick / untick to allow / disallow)
Carolina Custom Designs
Vekia has given you good instructions. Just to add to what he said, if you wish to add the page to the top menu go to Modules > Modules. Find there Top Horizontal Menu module > select Configure. Find your CMS page in the left window then add it to your menu and remember to click Save. Hope that helps. Marty Shue
Luke_Urtnowski
k, took a look at the Top Horizontal Menu (I want to add the Category to that menu (to the far right, after Shipping) heres a screenshot of the block (attached) I then took screenshot of my CMS thing which seems to show my other categories and the pages in mmmy root (Home) category. (attached) I created the category (Recipes) and you can see the 1 page in it, as heres a screenshot of that (attached) I dont know how to add that category (Recipes) to the menu (do I have to add the page, then link it to the category?) Thanks Edited October 3, 2013 by Luke_Urtnowski (see edit history)
Paulito
Good morning Using PS 1.5.5 default theme If you are trying to achieve putting a CMS page (Recipes) with "Children" on your top navigation bar, see link below http://mobileskunk.co.uk/index.php Then go to: Back Office > Preferences > CMS > Add New (Recipes) http://screencast.com/t/ktV0K04JO5Ak When you have done this click on Recipes (not the pencil icon) and then add further pages http://screencast.com/t/2OOENmNIdgx Make sure you enable these pages http://screencast.com/t/nJtndJooU7Df If everything has worked out then go to: Back Office > Modules > Modules > Front Office Features > Top horizontal menu > Configure > add Recipes from the left block to the right > click save http://screencast.com/t/RdVLYpIC Hope this helps Paul
Luke_Urtnowski
Thanks for the help... I created a Recipe category and placed a page in it Then I went to that module and moved the new category over (doesn't the indentation show that Im good?) The menu hasn't changed though you can go to the specific recipes page (note: the breadcrumbs are like yours) http://www.swedishsweetsandimports.com/content/7-dajmtarta but Recipe is a blank link ion the breadcrumbs Edited October 4, 2013 by Luke_Urtnowski (see edit history)
stottycabanas
Luke, the screenshot you provided showing the configuration page for the top horizontal menu has only 'Home' and 'Recipes' in the right hand box. This does not correspond to the top horizontal menu on your site which has 'Home', 'Specials', 'My Account', 'Sitemap', 'Contacts' and 'Shipping'. Are you maybe mixing the back office of one version of your shop with the front end of another? Also you have a CMS page within the Home CMS category called 'recipes' (with ID 8) - I would suggest deleting that to avoid confusion. Cheers, Dave
Luke_Urtnowski
Deleted the page, and attached a screenshot of the blocks configuration page (doesn't the blue message tell me that that it is the menu for the site?) Where is the menu coming from then? Edited October 4, 2013 by Luke_Urtnowski (see edit history)
stottycabanas
It's coming from a non-default theme that you have installed - Dream Theme Reloaded Blue. This disables the default blocktopmenu module and instead uses dreamtopmenu module. Paul was careful to say in his instructions above 'Using PS 1.5.5 default theme', so they won't work for your non-default theme without some amendment. I think you need to go to Modules/Modules and then instead of the standard Top Horizontal Menu, find the module Dreamtheme Horizontal Menu. Click Configure and make the changes in the manner Paul suggested. The changes should then be reflected in the top menu on your live site.
Luke_Urtnowski
dang, guy guys are smart.. Now Its in the menu, but why when I go to Recipes, does it give this http://www.swedishsweetsandimports.com/content/category/2-recipes How do I edit that page? stottycabanas
I get a 'Page does not exist' error from that link. Maybe because it can't find themes/dtheme-blue/css/cms.css, but I'm not sure. You can't easily edit the CMS category page - it's purpose is to provide a list of the CMS pages within the category, not to be an editable page itself. Luke_Urtnowski
ok, decided to just forget the recipe category thing and to just create a Recipe page (in the home category) and link it to that recipe (which is also in the home category) Thanks all for the help
