batman42ca
Using Prestashop 1.5.5.0, I performed a database backup from "storeA" using Advanced Parameters > DB Backup, and then in another "storeB", (a duplicate copy) I imported that backup using phpmyadmin. For no reason I can see, even after confirming that the password as stored in the database is the same in each, before logging into "storeB", I have to request a new password. Only with the new password, can I log into "storeB". The password that should have been copied (and was correctly copied) from "storeA" doesn't work in "storeB". How can that be? What else besides the email address, the password and the active status of an employee is checked to permit login? tomerg3
Both shops need to use the same _COOKIE_KEY_ (found in /config/settings.inc.php) as this variable is used to encrypt/decrypt passwords.

What else besides the email address, the password and the active status of an employee is checked to permit login? I'm curious as to why you did this. With multistore you could have easily replicated storeA and created storeB... follow tomerg's advice on the key, as i suppose storeB has separate intsall. batman42ca
I think I also need to copy _COOKIE_IV_ As to why did I created 2 installations instead of setting up a multistore, I did that because I need an indepenent duplicate store to test upgrades and other changes before applying them to the live store. Thanks for the help. Edited September 26, 2013 by batman42ca (see edit history)
