Automatic upgrade 1.4.11.0 to 1.5.5.0

Hi

I'm doing some work for a friend on his site.

He wants to be able to use the multistore feature in 1.5.5.0.

Is there a way of automatically upgrading to 1.5 from 1.4 versions? I have used 1-click upgrade and it only seems to update to the most recent 1.4 version? 

Sorry for my naivety! I haven't used Prestashop before this.

Heidi, you need to click "more options (expert mode)". See also the attached picture.

 

Take care that upgrading often goes wrong. So have a good backup!

I will have a go shortly. Everything is backed up on my computer so that shouldn't be a problem.

Doesn't the 1-click also offer a rollback feature in case of any problems to allow you to automatically go back to the last version?

1-click upgrade offers a rollback feature. However, most of the times it doesn't work - so don't rely on it.

Ahhh help!

I've done the 1-click upgrade and back office looks fine, but now I have viewed front office again and all I get is a blank page in both maintenance and live mode!

It did say there were some errors after the upgrade. and I have also found on the configuration page that it says some files are missing?

so you just ignored the errors?  did you copy them or notate what they were?

 

as for the blank page, edit the config/defines.inc.php file and change the '_PS_MODE_DEV_' to true.  Instead of a blank page, you will see an error message

I update fine, but have a problem with product page (launch error "Invalid product vars at line 108 in file classes/Link.php).

 

Maybe for the update error in module: "Products category", it isn't be able to update that module...

 

Now I roll back to 1.5.4 again
