[Solved] Unable to login on some browsers

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I'm working on a shop, put a lot of hours into it.. now i'm trying to login (via an account that i've created) on the front-end of the shop, but in some cases (browsers?) it's unable to login.

On the "login" page it simply refreshes the page, but does not actually login. Only sometimes gives an error.

When I try to login on the order page (1 page checkout) it gives the following error:

TECHNICAL ERROR: unable to send login informations

Details:
Error thrown: [object Object]
Text status: parsererror

I've tried on my PC, works in Chrome, fails in Firefox. On another PC it was exactly the other way around...?

Any suggestions?

Regards,

Dave

Errors from Firefox (it bugs on that browser here). I've checked the other PC where it bugs on Chrome, but I don't see any errors in the log.

Also, on the other PC with Chrome, when I add something to my cart and press "Check out", it refreshes and says I don't have any items in my shopping cart. Seems related to the logging issue..

I've cleared my browser cache, but it didnt help..

It's in Dutch, if you need anything in English I can try to change the language of my browser.

Hi Dave,  interesting reading your post....same thing has happened to me, Searched everywhere, and still searching.

Did you find a solution?  I'm seriously thinking of deleting the install & starting afresh. Just seems odd to be so close yet so far.

When I installed and it gave me the option to goto Front Office or Back office, I was drawn to Front Office...clicked and site was there, & bookmarked it, but wish I'd gone to Back office now.

If I get anywhere I'll post straight back. Head's getting a bit numb now searching for a solution!

Cheers, Matt.

It sounds like your problem is logging into the back-office?

As for my problem.. i have not yet found a solution. I've put a lot of editing and work into the shop, so 'simply' re-installing is quite some work for me.. However, if i'm not getting any more suggestions it might just be the only way.

Thanks!

As for me, emptying the following files/folders worked:

- DO NOT DELETE INDEX.PHP

/cache/smarty/cache

/cache/smarty/complile

Seems like this would be the first step when having issues with shopping cart/logging in.

As for your problem mexicoMATT, i'm really not sure. Maybe try to open a different topic for yourself, perhaps someone can help you out!
