Meta Descriptions and Google Indexing

Hi,

 

I have a problem with Google indexing. I have submitted a sitemap but only about half of my pages are indexed. It's been months.

 

Also, ones that are indexed have their descriptions like:

 

 

en; br · de · es · fr · it. Currency : £. €; £; $. contact · sitemap · Cart: 0 product products (empty) · Your Account. Welcome Log in · Home

 

I have set their meta descriptions. I see some pages indexed are the pages of a category or manufacturer for example /en/11-health-products?p=2 they also have bad descriptions. How can I change the descriptions for those?

 

I would think if there was no meta description then the product info would be used?

maybe you've got some duplicated contents? have you checked your google webmaster tools?

Thanks for the reply. I just checked and no reported errors in WMT. It says 500 pages in sitemap 330 indexed.

 

What made you think it might be duplicates?

if it helps at all the site is axehealth (com)

maybe you use the same descriptions (or very similar) for separate products? if so, this is usually treated like DC by google

Thanks again for the reply. No I don't think that's it. It's not just the indexing that I'm really concerned about, it's the meta descriptions and how the text is appearing in Google.

Just take a longer description:
Products - Short Description, Description,  
Categories - Description

a minimum of 150 characters

Thanks to all... I think it's is down to the guy who enetered the meta descriptions only did them for products not categories and manufacters!
