PayPal - shopping cart empty error - HELP please

Recommended Posts

Hi,

When I click the PayPal option to buy I get an error saying the shopping cart is empty, no matter if i have 1 or 20 items in my basket.

I cant fix this error and my shop is closed for buying due to this :(

Using Prestashop 1.5.5 and PayPal Europe module 3.6 (also tried 3.5.8).

I have tried to uninstall PayPal module, delete it, and what not - no luck.

The developer of my theme, Sellya, stated that it is a bug in prestashop 1.5.5

Can anyone help?

Indeed, PS 1.5.5 works perfectly with Paypal with default template .

Another issue with PayPalI that I have observed is when you change the default currency of the shop to another currency that PayPal doesn't support by default (see below) then the PayPal responds with the error 10605 (= "currency not supported"). And all ends here. Transaction fails.

Currency that Paypal supports:

  • Canadian Dollar
  • Euro
  • British Pound
  • U.S. Dollar
  • Japanese Yen
  • Australian Dollar
  • New Zealand Dollar
  • Swiss Franc
  • Hong Kong Dollar
  • Singapore Dollar
  • Swedish Krona
  • Danish Krone
  • Polish Zloty
  • Norwegian Krone
  • Hungarian Forint
  • Czech Koruna
  • Israeli New Shekel
  • Mexican Peso
  • Brazilian Real (only for Brazilian members)
  • Malaysian Ringgit (only for Malaysian members)
  • Philippine Peso
  • New Taiwan Dollar
  • Thai Baht
  • Turkish Lira (only for Turkish members)
  • Russian Ruble

Hope that helps.

Hi

Thanks for your answers.

I am using Danish Krone and it did work when I just installed everything - some weeks ago.

But it suddenly stopped working this friday.

No matter what theme I use - it always ends with an empty cart when I proceed to checkout with PayPal.

Hi,

Probably PayPal has made some changes in his system lately, and that messes up your paypal module.

I have downloaded a free theme from some web site ( http://www.freeprestathemes.com/blue-theme/ ) and I did a fresh instal of PS1.5.5., with this theme installed, and with euro as default shop currency.

Paypal works that way, so is possible to be a hidden problem with your template, corroborated with some Paypal changes.

You can try for yourself, do a fresh install of PS155 (maybe you should download it again from prestashop.com) , instal that theme, configure your Paypal module,  modify a product to have a really low price (something like 0.01 euro) and try to make a purchase of that product.

You might be surprised.

Keep me informed.

Well - something now happened. Very positive - IT WORKS.

I turned on the Use Friendly URLs and canoniquie. But presta tells me rewrite_mod isnt installed (I dont know how to install it, im no coder).

But I deleted what was in the SSL Domain name - and then it suddenly worked!

Hello all, I know this has already been discussed but the PayPal Module is updated to 3.6, with small minor changes made today. You can download it here http://addons.prestashop.com/en/payments-gateways-prestashop-modules/1748-paypal.html

Make sure to always have a backup of your files before you update modules. Do not hesitate to leave feedback about the module and if you have any issues, we can work together to solve them.

Cheers,

-Benjamin
