Exclude Canceled orders from Printing when you Generate invoice pdf by date

Under Orders / Invoices " How to exclude Canceled orders from Printing when you Generate pdf file by date" 

 

Under Print Pdf Invoices we have check boxes for Generate pdf file by Status but when you want to print invoices by date range it prints everything including cancelled orders.

 

any help? I know you can customize the pdf/invoice.tpl etc but how to go about it
