go2pub
Hi Just wondering whats the easiest way to downgrade to 1.5.4.1 from 1.5.5, I installed a fresh 1.5.5 on a domain but I've discovered the csv import's not working so need to switch to 1.5.4.1 which is working. I've already set up all the categories and configured everything so I'm not to keen to start everything over. Any ideas on how to downgrade without loosing everything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

go2pub
Hi Benjamin I can't get images to import with the csv, i've tried everything I can think of and could find in the forums but it just doesn't work. I have another shop on 1.5.4.1 on the same server and the images import fine on it. My images are located on another server and I need to use the full url to the image in the csv, but everything I've tried has failed so far. Thanks
tuk66
There is no way to go back. You need to install a fresh v1.5.4.1 shop.

Hi go2pub, could you replace the contents of /classes/tools.php with the contents of the file link on github. Make sure to have a backup.. This is for 1.5.5 image upload via CSV. This should solve the problem. https://github.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop/blob/development/classes/Tools.php

benjamin utterback
Are you using full URL's in your CSV import? What errors are you getting? I really want to help find and fix the problem but I need some more information. Can you tell me your update history? Did you start with 1.5.4.1? go2pub
Hi BenjaminMany thanks for your help trying to fix this problem.I've also tried the updated tools.php but it still won't work. The following is the error I get when i try, where website.com is replaced by the actual site the images come from. I've checked the address in a browser and the image shows fine. Error copying image: http://website.com/media/catalog/product/f/i/file_1234_34.jpg My site uses php version 5.2.17 just wondering if that would have anything to do with it, maybe it's an error relating to php 3.0 which might explain why it seems to work for some and not others?I'm on a fresh install on 1.5.5 Edited September 19, 2013 by go2pub (see edit history)

tuk66
Benjamin, it looks like PrestaShop don't do unit and functional tests, continuous integration, Selenium and all that stuff I have known a little bit.
J-works.cz
Hello, I need few advices. I was trying to import new products via CSV with images. It was not successfull by any way, that I was trying. Products was added to database, but the main problem is with image import. I filled the CSV right according to the products_import.csv file By Prestashop. Images was not added, neither copied to my Prestashop server. I was trying it on: 1) localhost - images from My computer 2) localhost - images from internet (http://www.mydomain.com/temp/img1.jpg) 3) Live server on the internet - images from My computer 4) Live server on the internet - images from internet (http://www.mydomain.com/temp/img1.jpg - the live server) 5) Live server on the internet - images from internet (http://www.myANOTHERdomain.com/temp/img1.jpg - my another live server) Everything was unsuccessfull. Would you be so kind and tell me what to do. I mean: 1) How should look like the CSV import file for importing product with images 1a) import to localhost Prestashop - images on localhost 1b) import to localhost Prestashop - images on my website (internet) 1c) import to live server Prestashop - images on localhost 1d) import to live server Prestashop - images on my website (internet) 2) What are the necessary setting (php server, apache, etc.) to do import CSV with image - I think, there can be problem also - that I have / do not have the right setting of my server (localhost and live server) Maybe You could add some CSV import file which is 100% working. Thank you very much. P.S. I was trying it on version 1.3.x and now I am trying it on version 1.5.6.0 and both versions are not capable to do it properly. Thanky you
slschris
I have the same problem! In noway i can upload photos for the products! (using 1.5.6). Why don't you (prestashop developers) give us the feature to use a relative url on the server/site (where we upload the photos through FTP)? sgazeri
Hello, I upload the files as csv and the products are added, but not the images. I use the full directory name to refer to the image URL, but they are still not showing. I've been looking for a solution to this for days now... would really appreciate solutions anyone may have. Hi sgazeri, I was able to finally figure out what the issue was in my case, the server kept timing out. I had to lower the number of products I was importing. So I did 50 at a time and it worked. I'm not sure if this will help you. Check the URL to your images.
sgazeri
Hello, thank you for your quick response. I'm actually only loading in one product at a time for testing purposes and that is not working either. Just to recap, I can load the product via the CSV file, but not the image. I use the full URL http://www.website.com/images/...jpg. I have also attempted to load the CSV file by referencing to an image of an existing product (where I know that the image is publicly accessible, also with no luck). TJMare, I really hope this is the solution! I have not updated to a newer version of tools.php. Is the newest one not part of the 1.5.6 downloadable package? What changes do I need to make to it? (I was not on an earlier version of Prestashop before, so my original installation was with version 1.5.6.)

Sorry I don't know if it's part of 1.5.6 - you can easily see if it is by comparing the # of lines of code in the file (I would think) - I always make a back-up of any current file I am replacing. I'm not an expert so this is just a suggestion.
Maheshmohan1093
It can be due to the error in URL of the image path as well: The URL of the image must be an absolute link. In other words, it should be the link that may be used in a web browser in order to display the image. For instance: http://www.myprestashop/images/productXXX.gif. Please make sure "/" has been used instead of "\".
