Prestashop product ID

Hello,

 

It seems that the Prestashop product ID is numeric, but in many instances product data needs to be imported with an alpha-numeric ID, is there a way to change this restriction in Prestashop, so that the Prestashop product ID can at least hold an alpha-numeric product ID?

product ID can't handle this sign and it's not possible to change type of field. It's because this is the most important field in whole database, and it's only for engine purposes, is important for the structure of the software. This field isn't used in front office.

 

You should take a look on "reference" field. This is correct field for value related to product id with alpha-numerics chars
