Please fix these two little issues, and prestashop would be great

I love prestashop , I've been using it for a few years now. But, time and time again the same two problems crop up.

 

1) the 'cart empty' bug seen across every single release, for multiple different reasons.

2) The poor deployment of the checkout process address system, which contributes to big drop off rates.

 

I've just spent another couple of hours trying to fi yet another 'cart empty' bug, which this time seemed to be down to the paypal module (fixed by adding the backward compatibility module !!!???!!! ). However, we constantly see problems relating to this, all the time, across every single release, and STILL there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer to it, and many many reasons why it occurs. So, heres a crazy proposal.. rewrite the cart process from the ground up. It doesn't work... get rid of it.
Half the time we don't know if the user can see it working or not, as it depends on cookies, broswers, cache, modules blah blah. It is a major problem.

 

The second point, the address process and the tickbox for using a different address for billing. This confuses pretty much every single visitor that uses it. Its not intuitive, its not easy to use, and I've personally had to redo that page and remove the tickbox in order to minimise the cart abandonment at that point. When it comes to carts, you have to remember the golden rule, assume every single visitor is stupid and make the process as easy as it can possibly be for them.

Yet, with every release I check, there it is again, that damn tickbox. Please Please rethink this section, it doesn't work, its poorly implemented.

 

Other than that, prestashop is great, but the cart checkout process is i'm afraid to say, awful, and i'm 100% certain is the reason behind prestashops poor conversion rates.
