[Solved] Running shop broke down

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

We had a running shop, no issues whatsoever. Since a couple of days however, it broke down (we only just noticed).

- All links under "SEO & URLs" forward to a 404 page

- Backoffice didnt show a menu bar when I first logged in

- Stats have stopped collecting data 4 days ago (probably when the shop broke down).

I sincerely hope someone can help out, as it's quite an urgent problem!

Regards,

Dave

Right, I figured the problem is with a new 1.5 shop we're working on.

it was installed in the same database, but with a different prefix. This happened during the time the shop broke down, so I imagine it has to do with that.

The question (if that is the problem) would be: how would I split the databases? I'm a noob when it comes to databases, and I don't wanna mess up more than i've already done.

Would this work? :

- Export the 1.5 prefixes (or would this delete them as well?)

- Import them to a new database

- Change settings in "settings.inc.php"

Hi CrossY, you mentioned that you were on 1.4.7 earlier. However, the problem was actually on a new 1.5 shop?

The problem was on a 1.4.7, however, we're working on a new version "behind the scenes" which is 1.5.x --  I had the illusion I had messed up the database somehow. Pretty sure the error was in the .htaccess file, I have no idea where the error came from though..

Okay so the problem was only on 1.4.7. On version 1.4, whenever you change the Friendly URL settings, you also need to regenerate the htaccess. On 1.5x , toggling the Friendly URL option automatically generate a new htaccess.

Good to know, thanks! Hopefully we will be fully 1.5 equipped in the near future, less bugs and more support :)

Awesome, if you have any trouble with 1.5 please let me know. You can create a thread and PM me the link to the thread. We will all help as best we can :) Thanks for being a part of the community and your support.

Cheers
