jeepwhisperer Posted September 8, 2013 Share Posted September 8, 2013 My shop will sell replacement parts and accessories for cars (jeeps, actually) and I'm hoping others have created similar sites so I don't need to re-invent this wheel. I need to make parts searchable by typical "make, model, year, engine, 2 door vs 4 door, etc" type tags. The best way I can see to do this is to use the "Layered navigation block" and to create categories for every possible condition, including a category for every year since 1942. So, for example, a door hinge for a CJ7 would have categories "jeep, CJ7, body, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982 , 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986". Is there a different, or better, way to do this? It would be ideal if there was a way to specify a range of years, such as "1979 - 1986", but I can't think of a way to do this... If anyone has any ideas or even a template, I'm interested!
