[Solved] theme changes not being read

Recommended Posts

I have successfully upgraded from 1.4.7.3 to 1.5.4.1, and now to 1.5.5.1. However, I cannot get changes to my theme to take effect. It only seems to work if I change the core file (and I don't want to do this anymore, as it is frustrating when upgrading).

Why don't my changes take effect?

I have searched the forum and prestashop documentation. I have the changed files stored in exactly the same folder structure as the core files, but still Prestashop only reads the core file.

Example: I changed various settings in superfish-modified 2.css. If I make these changes in the core file located at /public_html/modules/blocktopmenu/css/superfish-modified 2.css, they appear instantly in my front office. However, when I make these changes in the file located at public_html/themes/tascTheme/modules/blocktopmenu/css/superfish-modified 2.css, I still have the original settings in the core file and my front office only reads these. The front office does not read the theme-based file.

What am I doing wrong?

I have refreshed my browser. I have emptied smarty cache. I have forced compilation. I have turned off cache. Nothing works. I would really appreciate some assistance, as I seem to be getting nowhere.

Yoohoo! Jubiii...

Super. It worked! So, any css files related to modules must now actually be under css/modules...

Wow! I figured it was something simple, that I was just missing.

Amazing what joy I received from your short, but very useful response.

BTW - how do I mark my topic solved?

Thanks for such swift assistance.
